About Andreja Rauch Podrzavnik

Andreja Rauch Podrzavnik is a Slovenian choreographer, director, and performer.
She primarily conceives and develops her own artistic projects while also creating commissioned works for educational institutions, and theatre and dance companies. Her practice operates within the field of performative art, often bridging choreography with visual art and site-specific installations. Including space as an active part to her creative process; she works closely with musicians, visual artists, lighting designers, writers, and regularly incorporates video as a medium of presentation and artistic exploration.
She graduated from the London Contemporary Dance School with a Master of Arts degree. Following her studies, she lived and worked in London and across Europe.
After returning to Slovenia, she focused on establishing a creative and research-based platform through which she develops projects and collaborates with numerous Slovenian and international artists from diverse artistic disciplines.
Since 2009, she has been actively involved in the establishment and development of the Federacija Association, one of Slovenia’s most recognizable NGOs in the field of performative arts.
Her work has received multiple awards and recognitions, including the Ksenija Hribar Prize for choreographic work, which she received three times (2026, 2021, 2015), the Župančič Prize (2021), and the Meta Vidmar Award as a member of Collective Federacija (2013). Earlier distinctions include the Best Performance Award at the Gibanica Festival (2007), the Povodni mož Award for Best Female Performer (2004), and selection as Top Female Performer by Critics’ Choice in Dance Europe (2003).
Alongside her artistic practice, she regularly teaches dance composition, improvisation, instant composition, and contemporary dance techniques. She also mentors artists from various disciplines, including dance and choreography, fine arts, sculpture, photography, and dramaturgy, supporting interdisciplinary artistic development and research.
